Trees Please was started in a class at Sauder Village taught by Tracy Jamar. PLease see her wonderful book called and available on Amazon: Coils, Folds, Twists, and Turns: Contemporary Techniques in Fiber

I dyed Charmeuse silk for the background and my friend and artist Karen Kamenetzky taught me to Free Motion Quilt the sky and mountain areas. The trees are a combination of techniques taught by Tracy and the frabics mimic the colors of the four seasons. I love sparkle! The bottom hooked strip ties the trees together as happens in nature.

I named it Trees Please to honor my friend and collage artist Helene Henry of Brattleboro VT. Because of her love of trees and the group she started, there are many beautiful trees in our town.
